Forever On the Rise: Celebrating Dustin Steffenhagen’s Journey at T5

Career Beginnings: Adaptability and Resilience 

Dustin’s career is a testament to his adaptability and resilience. Early in his professional journey, he worked in aerospace, starting in quality engineering before transitioning to manufacturing engineering. At the time, he envisioned a long-term future in the aerospace sector. However, life presented unexpected challenges. While balancing part-time education with full-time work, Dustin faced the hurdle of not completing his mechanical engineering degree – a requirement in his field. This led him to step away from aerospace to refocus on his education. 

A New Direction: Gaining Skills and Rebuilding 

During this transitional phase, Dustin worked as an electrician – a family trade. Mentored by relatives, he gained valuable skills and eventually rose to project management while completing his degree. When an opportunity with T5 Data Centers arose, Dustin saw it as a chance to leverage his diverse experience in a new industry. 

Excelling at T5: Expertise and Growth 

His expertise earned him a role as a subject matter expert in operations. Reflecting on his decision to join T5, he shared, “The opportunity presented itself, and I jumped on it. It’s been one of the greatest companies I’ve worked for, and it’s a place I plan to stay long-term.” 

Dustin’s career at T5 has been defined by consistent growth, leadership, and an unwavering openness to new challenges. “I’ve been promoted and relocated three times during my time at T5,” he explained. “I don’t look at moving as an inconvenience. When opportunities present themselves, I’m the type of person who takes them on—to test myself and continue to grow.” 

Motivation: Family and Team 

Dustin’s motivation stems from his desire for personal and professional growth, supported by his family and team. As a proud “girl dad,” his daughters inspire him daily. “I want to do better for myself and my family,” he shared. Professionally, his team motivates him. “I want my entire team to succeed, and they drive me every day.” 

Living Forever On 

To Dustin, “Forever On” represents a commitment to accountability, integrity, and perseverance. “We take ownership of what we do and don’t take it lightly,” he explained. “When we make a promise to our customers, we do everything we can to deliver on that promise. It’s about having the integrity to follow through, both internally and externally.” 

He also highlighted the perseverance required to uphold these commitments. “Pushing through challenges, adapting, and continuing to grow are essential,” he said. “It’s not always easy, but it’s what drives us to be better every day.” 

Gratitude and Looking Ahead 

Reflecting on his time at T5, Dustin expressed gratitude for the support he’s received. “I’m grateful that T5 has allowed and encouraged me to grow and supported my goals. I’m humbled to have been nominated as a ‘Forever On The Rise’ candidate in a company with so many deserving individuals,” he shared. He also credited his team for their role in his success. “I’m especially grateful for the team I have at SV01. Their belief in my leadership has been a critical part of the improvements we’re making in Silicon Valley,” Dustin said. 

Looking ahead, Dustin remains focused on growth — for himself, his team, and T5. “I couldn’t have accomplished what I have in my career or life without my supporting cast—the team around me, on-and-off-site, that keeps me Forever On.”
