Why North Texas is readying for a data center storm

Dallas Business Journal covers the T5@Dallas data center expansion and its impact on businesses and Texas itself in this recent article.

North Texas has been receiving even more attention now that Texas legislature passed House Bill 1223, which gives tax exemptions for 10 years or 15 years for single-occupant data center projects with a capital investment of $200 million to $250 million, respectively.

“There’s been a healthy flow of activity, and it hasn’t let up,” said T5 President Pete Marin. “Data is just expanding. Every e-mail you send or video at a toll booth, is stored. The data is growing at such a rapid rate, we, as individuals, can’t keep up with it.”

The article features both Pete Marin and Martin Peck, SVP, General Manager T5@Dallas on the T5@Dallas data center location, its expansion, and the growing need for enterprise data storage.
