SVP, Quality Control & Technical Sales
Joseph Parrino

Our Customers choose T5 because we build the data center they would build.  In the same way, T5 trains our people in the way our Customers would train theirs.  Joe leads this training effort across the national portfolio. The T5FM Textbook includes in-depth Electrical, Mechanical, BMS/EPMS, and Raised Floor Management.  Joe’s goal is to arm the Critical Facilities Technicians with site-specific knowledge, ensuring the operation of critical equipment is well understood.  Certification and Recertifications are accomplished through recurring classroom sessions and testing.

Joe is also in charge of National Quality Assurance, providing the final review and approval of all of T5FM’s Operational Procedures. Knowing that procedures are the keys to our customer’s uptime, the documents must be comprehensive and exact, yet understandable.

The final component to a Top Tier operation is that of Process Improvement.  As the CFTs become trained on their critical systems, they become a knowledge resource to make their operations more resilient and more efficient.  Joe encourages the teams to remain constructively dissatisfied with their operations, always striving for continuous improvement.

Joe comes to T5 with almost 29 years of experience at UPS (United Parcel Service), where for the last 13 ½ years he was Senior Manager of Facilities at the Windward Data Center in Alpharetta GA, the first Tier IV data center in the world. In this capacity he oversaw the maintenance and operation of the System + System power and cooling infrastructure, uninterruptible and emergency power systems, fire protection systems, and management of the raised floor environment. At UPS, he led the effort to reduce energy consumption by 4 million kWh’s annually (15% reduction) without sacrificing availability, developed Critical Power Distribution electrical architecture and Rack Standardization that was adopted by UPS across both GA and NJ data centers, and replaced the uninterruptible power supply in a live data center.

Joe holds a B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
