Job Description:

Director, Facilities Management Business Development 

The Director, Facilities Management Business Development has primary responsibility for creating and managing T5 Facilities Management’s “top of funnel” pipeline sales efforts. This position is focused on new business development and relationship management, in addition to supporting T5 Facilities Management’s overall sales and marketing function.

Responsibilities: 

  • Handle all aspects of the lead generation process, including
    • Prospect for new clients
    • Generate and qualify leads
    • Solicit new sales opportunities
    • Make sales calls to new and existing clients
    • Source and develop client referrals
    • Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
    • Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions
    • Plan and conduct direct marketing activities to support lead generation
    • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to T5FM leadership team
  • Create plans and strategies for
    • Developing new business
    • Expanding the company’s customer base
    • Achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Professionally represent T5 through phone and email communications, personal meetings, business forums, trade shows, and other means, as directed
  • Set-up meetings and tours for potential clients, as directed
  • Develop and make presentations of company services to current and potential clients, as directed
  • Assist in contract negotiations and / or coordinating “behind the scenes” as required to support sales team efforts
  • Develop and maintain a customer database. Maintain sales activity records and prepare sales reports. Utilize T5’s sales data base if requested (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Track and manage metrics related to Salesforce.com, CRM, and website analytics to further focus T5 Facilities Management sales efforts
  • Maintain customer relationships and follow-up on customer service
  • Support conference coordination and logistics, including booth, marketing materials, conference participation, and other details
  • Complete all other duties, including special projects, consistent with your position and in support of T5 Facilities Management’s operations and sales and marketing

  • Someone who is resourceful, conscientious, and takes personal pride in their work, preferred
  • An energetic self-starter with a “can-do / whatever it takes” attitude who can perform under pressure, work successfully on tight deadlines, and identify and resolve problems as they arise, preferred

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel for this position is estimated at up to 30%

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5-years’ direct sales experience in the data center (or related) industry, including established relationships with end users
  • Consistent track record of success in closing business, creating and managing a robust pipeline, proven track record of achieving/exceeding quota, required
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com experience, required
